Shirley is the sweetest of the sweetest. She loves to be around her person and snuggle. And snuggle. And snuggle. And snuggle. Shirley is a 2-3 year old Dachshund rescued from neglectful conditions in northern Florida. She is now heartworm free, ear infection free, ear mites free, spayed and ready for her “fur”ever home. She was an amazing mother and her puppies have all been adopted.
Shirley gets along with everyone she meets. In her foster home she has been with kids, toddlers and other small dogs. Shirley would do best in a home with other sweet and submissive dog(s) or as an only princess. As long as she has company and lots of snuggle time, she will be your best companion yet. It’s unknown how she is with large dogs or cats. She loves to sun bathe in the back yard and also walks great on a leash. Shirley is not food aggressive nor does she beg. She doesn’t mind car rides either!
Shirley is all Dachshund and would do best with someone who is familiar with the breed. Shirley doesn’t like to be alone and needs a home where she is not left alone long. Shirley hates the create. She is potty trained but does have that small Dachshund bladder. She loves to chew on her toys and munch on yummy dog chews. Shirley knows her name and is a quick learner. As a Dachshund she would do best in a one story home where she is not tempted to run up and down the stairs. She also loves to jump on the couch to snuggle and snuggle some more. Dachshunds are prone to IVDD so keeping her from stairs, jumping and picking her up properly is important.
