Hello, My name is MAXX (spelled with 2 x's because I'm eXtra sweet). I'm the perfect dog for an active family with older children and a backyard. I would love to have a doggie sibling, too - someone to run and play chase with me. I have lots of fun with both male and female dogs but I probably would not do well with cats. I might view them as toys to chase. I am a beautiful, gleaming, gorgeous all black boy who weighs about 38 lbs and stands 19" tall at my shoulders - the size of a smaller Lab. I'm such a happy, exuberant guy who so loves everybody that I tend to jump up on people just to show my happy affection. I could use a little reinforcement in my leash training; if I'm not reminded to walk nicely I can pull but I'm so super smart as soon as my foster says, "Maxx, stop or Leave it" I remember to be a good boy again. Best of all, I'm housetrained (of course, I'll need reinforcement in my new home) but my foster mom says I've never even had an accident.  I put my head on mom's knee when I need to go "potty."  I sleep in my doggie bed and don't jump on the sofa. My foster mom does not even have a crate for me because I'm such a good boy. I know the commands, "sit, down, paw and leave it." I can run super fast but as soon as mom calls me, I come back to her. Foster mom says I take food so very gently from her hand and I'm sweet beyond sugar. I love car rides and would love to ride home with my forever family.
